BUSINESS DURING COVID-19

NOTE THAT WE WILL BE CLOSED BETWEEN 5TH - 9TH JULY INCLUSIVE

As a bike shop, we have been open throughout the current crisis and have been re-introducing the different elements of the business gradually, following government guidance and always with safety being paramount. We are now close to "business as usual" but are taking a short break between 5th and 9th July to get our hire, tuition and corporate events back up and and running and to give our very small team a break after working flat out in recent months to keep people on their bikes. Here are a few things to note about our services from 9th July:

SERVICING/REPAIRS - With Covid-19 safety measures in place, the workshop is operating fully. We no longer specify that appointments are required to attend but booking in advance is  highly recommended as we are extremely busy and we may not have space to store your bike until we can work on it.  We are continuing to prioritise key-workers, who are reliant on their bikes to commute.  Our mobile service is available and free within a 5 mile radius of Filey.

SALES - Full range of accessories, clothing & spares available.  Clothing, gloves and helmets can be tried on with the fitting room fully disinfected between each use and items subject to 72 hours quarantine after being tried on. A small number of bikes (ranging between £159.99 & £229.99) are for sale and can be viewed in the shop. Our usual system of purchasing from our catalogue system is suspended due to problems in the supply chain.

HIRE - From 10th July, our hire service is available. Booking at least 24hours in advance is required and drop-off and collection has to be at your home address or holiday accommodation. If you are outside our 5 mile radius, we will do our best to accommodate but, with delivery slots in demand for all our services, we may not be able to get out to you. We are currently revising our booking terms and conditions to balance the high demand with the flexibility to cancel in the event your holiday cannot go ahead. In the meantime, no deposit will be taken but we would ask that you honour your bookings, if at all possible. 

TUITION & EVENTS -  Group and one-to-one tuition for both riding and cycle maintenance is available again from 9th July, along with corporate events.  Groups are limited to a maximum of 5 to each instructor and all sessions will be designed to incorporate the required social distancing. Each session is bespoke so please contact us to discuss your specific needs and the cost.

A FEW OTHER THINGS - Demand for repairs and servicing is high. We do our best to return your bike that same day when it has been booked in but this is not always possible. A combination of high demands on our suppliers; a shortage nationally of some parts and delays in the courier system may lead to your bike being with us longer than you would normally expect.  

HYGIENE/SAFETY MEASURES - We are asking everyone who enters the shop to follow our one-way system and the 2 metre distancing rule; to pay by card where possible and to stand behind the sneeze screens when talking to the team.  Hand santiser is available on entering and exiting the shop and we are continuing to regularly disinfect all surfaces and items that are touched. When we delivering/collecting, we are wearing gloves, disinfecting bikes and maintaining social distancing. We are reviewing how we operate regularly, based on the advice of the government and various governing bodies.
