Great Yorkshire Bike Ride (15th June 2019)
The Great Yorkshire Bike Ride is an annual 70 mile sponsored charity cycle ride from Wetherby to Filey. It takes in some of Yorkshire's best countryside through the Howardian Hills and the Wolds to the coast. Every year 2,000 cyclists of all ages and abilities take on the challenge of this great Yorkshire event and it has proved to be one of the most popular, successful and highly regarded rides in the country. Being open to all ages and abilities, the ride takes in a fantastic route across the best of Yorkshire to the coast at Filey Brigg.
We have a 26 mile (approx) short route, for those who just wish to get on a bike and challenge themselves. The shorter route is aimed at Sportive first timers. Road bikes, hybrids or MTB can be used here. For more experinced riders there is a Two Lap option (52 Mile). Ladies/ Women /Breeze Riders most welcome as are groups from sports clubs and groups of friends. Electric Bikes are welcome! Its about getting on your bike and Enjoying it! The 26mile loop starts/ finishes at Fadmoor (Just north of Kirkbymoorside)on quite roads round the North York Moors valley of Bransdale, dropping down to Medieval Helmsley then on the flat lands of Harome and Wombleton.
The Yorkshire Wolds Cycle Challenge 2019 (13th - 14th July 2019)
Starting and finishing in Norton, North Yorkshire, the challenging two-day ride covers 146 miles, following a spectacular circular route on quiet roads around the stunning Yorkshire Wolds. At the half-way point, riders come together in The Overnight Camp, a wonderful social occasion with food, bar and live music. It’s a great opportunity to relax, recharge and get to know your fellow entrants.
