This route takes you into the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds, giving you the opportunity to enjoy the historic, picturesque villages of Muston, Fordon, Foxholes, Octon, Thwing, Kilham, Rudston, Burton Fleming and Hunmanby. It's well worth stopping at a few to explore the old architecture, photogenic ponds, or pop into one of the many cozy pubs. The route takes you through Rudston with its mysterious monoloth, which is well worth the short detour. There can be a lack of refreshment stops out of season, so we would recommend checking, if you plan on relying on these. The roads are largely quiet country lanes, once you have left Muston. The return route brings you back a short distance along the busy A165 and, if you would prefer to avoid this, you may prefer to follow the outbound route. There is a shared cycle path along the A165 but it is more suited to hybrids than road bikes. There are a couple of challenging climbs, for those unaccustomed to any hilly terrain, but well worth it for the miles of stunning Wold views they afford you.
